I've worked at a secondhand bookstore for many years. In that time I've come across countless books that aren't in good enough condition to sell but have beautiful, weird, or nostalgic illustrations, massive old dictionaries that have no resale value, out-of-date tabloids that encapsulate a bygone era, and other gems.
Naturally, I brought many of them home with me. I was determined to make use of them. I couldn't surrender them to the landfill. So here we are.
Welcome to the product of my inability to let go.
Fun Facts!
I love languages! I’ve studied French for a little over fifteen years and daresay I can hold my own. I’ve also dabbled in German, Japanese, and dream of Finnish for no particular reason other than it’s weird and hard and I really think I’d jive with Finns.
I rarely drive even though I live in a pretty car-centric place. My partner and I find it a much better experience to ride scooters or bikes for our errands and outings.
I’m left handed, which automatically gives my art legitimacy.
My aspirational career paths as a child were writer, egyptologist, or entomologist. I did get an English degree, and I do still love mummies and bugs, but so far none have panned out.
